Boost your skills, career and confidence at #EIJ19

There are so many great opportunities to learn and network at this year’s Excellence in Journalism conference, it’s hard to pick which ones to highlight. We’ll give it a shot, but you should really check it out for yourself (and register online by August 12).

Here’s what’s new since our last EIJ update:

Boost your Skills
In addition to more than 40 leadership/management and skills sessions already announced, we’ve just added an in-depth curriculum of more than 30 additional sessions developed and presented by NAHJ trainers on digital skills, social/community engagement, emerging tech and more.

We’ll also have panels of big name journalists addressing some of today’s biggest stories in:

  • Immigration Impact: Beyond a One-Dimensional Narrative
  • Countdown to 2020: Election coverage strategies

Boost your Career
ABC, NBC, CBS, CNBC, CNN, and FOX will all be offering town halls, workshops or boot campsat EIJ (some by application only).

You’ll make key connections at sessions from Facebook, the Knight Foundation, Kneeland Project, National Endowment for Financial Education, U.S. Census Bureau and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Get one-on-one coaching and critiques before you hit the sold-out J-Expo and Career Fairwith more than 50 major media companies, schools and journalism organizations – most of whom are recruiting!

Stop by SAG-AFTRA’s office hours to get your employment, contract and career questions answered (stay tuned for sign up information).

Boost your Confidence
One-of-a-kind Texan Dale Hansen, whose acceptance speech for RTDNF’s Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this year went viral, will remind you why what you do every day is so incredibly important at the RTDNA member meeting (open to all members and friends at EIJ).

We’ll officially kick off with the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones – the Opening Night Reception sponsored by CNN Newsource!

Get inspired all over again by Scott Pelley and John Quiñones who will be honored with RTDNA’s highest awards and rub elbows at the VIP reception (tickets required) following the award presentation.

Every day, we hear from members looking for training, inspiration and support. Get your fix of all three at EIJ.
