John Quiñones and Scott Pelley Receive RTDNA Awards
Quiñones and Pelley were announced as the winners of the Paul White and John F. Hogan awards respectively earlier this year. Both men received the awards during the super session titled “Honoring a Lifetime of Excellence in Journalism.”
RTDNA gave the Paul White award to Scott Pelley recognizing “a lifetime of achievement and service to the profession of broadcast and digital journalism.” Well known for hosting 60 minutes for 20 years, Pelley also worked under CBS news for 30 years.
John Quiñones received the John F. Hogan award for his national and international coverage during his 35-year span with ABC news.
After the super session, both Quiñones and Pelley were brought down to the Lone Star foyer for a reception. The event was open to the public and featured the 2019 scholarship and fellowship recipients as attendees.
During the day of celebration, attendees and scholarship recipients enjoyed complimentary food and an open bar. They also had the chance to meet and speak with both award winners.
